Further to the article [in that Newspaper headed] “Paskeville Hotel in Parliament” (11/3/09 page 8) — and in the interests of fair and balanced reporting — we publish in full the transcript of Attorney General Michael Atkinson’s speech in Parliament on February 18 to which last week’s aforementioned article referred.
From Hansard:
ORGANISED CRIME
Mr RAU (Member for Enfield): Can the Attorney-General inform the house whether he has noticed any attempts by organised crime to register a political party in South Australia?
The Hon. M.J. ATKINSON (@14:44): I have noticed such an attempt. The FREE Australia Party (Freedom, Rights, Environment, Educate) has been formed to oppose the Rann government’s serious and organised crime law. Yorke Peninsula Country Times journalist Nick Perry reports that the FREE party was recruiting members at the Paskeville Hotel. It was on page 9 of the Yorke Peninsula Country Times on 10 February.

NOW !!! This begs the Question ? - Why would the Attorney-General be fearful of so-called "thugs, criminals or Bikies" forming a Political Party? Is the Attorney-General afraid they MIGHT ACTUALLY win at the March 2010 election and upset HIS LITTLE Political safe haven ??? Come on Mr Attorney-General - or is there some hidden agenda here.... How much more of our Public Money do you need to WASTE before the next election rubbishing constituents - remember we ALL have a VOTE at the next election....
As I recall even the IRA eventually became a Political Party in Northern Ireland - or does the Attorney-General first want South Australia to become a "war zone" before he pulls his head in.... You work it out..
This Blog is posted by ME !!! (Rowan Timms) Here's my picture.... and I don't know a single outlaw "Bikie" (as the Attorney may refer to some elements in the community).
AND I have zero affiliation with ANY POLITICAL PARTY - the rest of my identity is available elsewhere on this site.
